San Antonio - The Trinity men's and women's cross country squads won the team titles of the Our Lady of the Lake University (TX) Collegiate Invitational Saturday morning at Mission Del Lago Golf Course.
The Tiger men captured the 8k race and finished atop the six-team field with a score of 29. Our Lady of the Lake was runner-up, Texas A&M International University placed third, Southwestern (TX) University was fourth, Jacksonville (TX) College was fifth, and Concordia (TX) University came in at #6.
Trinity's women scored 26 points in the 5k event and defeated Texas A&M International, Our Lady of the Lake, Southwestern, and Concordia.
Molly McCullough won the women's championship with a time of 18:45.1. McCullough was also the first-place finisher at last week's Alamo City Opener in San Antonio. Jordan Juran was runner-up on Saturday, while Brianna Ratliff placed third. Allison Hill rounded out the Tigers in the top ten with a ninth-place finish.
Elliot Blake placed second in the men's 8k race, just 21 seconds behind the runner from Our Lady of the Lake. Blake crossed the finish line in 26:39.2. Harry Bellow finished third, Brian Wongchotigul was fifth, and Keaton Holt rounded out the top-10 with a sixth-place performance.
The Tiger teams will compete September 22 at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
