San Antonio - The Trinity men's and women's cross country teams swept the team titles of the Our Lady of the Lake University Invitational at Windcrest Golf Club on Saturday morning.
Today's wins marked the third consecutive year the Tiger teams won the top positions at this event.
The Trinity men scored 21 points in the 8k race, leading runner-up St. Edward's (TX) University by 24 points. Our Lady of the Lake was third, Concordia (TX) University placed fourth, Austin (TX) College was fifth, and Schreiner (TX) came in sixth.
Trinity's women's women's squad chalked up 43 points in the 5k event, leading Texas Wesleyan University and St. Edward's by a 15-point margin. Our Lady of the Lake, Austin College, Concordia, and Schreiner were next in the standings.
Tiger men's runners garnered the top three slots, led by a 26:25.8 time from Colton Hawkins. Just six seconds behind was Elliot Blake, followed by Keaton Holt a few seconds later. All three now hold times in the top 20 in school history.
Trinity's top women's runner was Laura Taylor, who clocked in at 19:25.7 for a sixth-place finish. Brianna Ratliff raced to a new personal-best time and was just two seconds behind Taylor. Allison Hill, Haley McFadden, Jordan Juran, Molly McCullough, and Emma MacEachern were all bunched together and claimed ninth through 13th individually.
The Tigers will compete Saturday, September 16, at the ACU Invitational in Abilene, Texas.
