Tiger Cross Country Teams Compete at UIW Invitational

Live Oak, Texas - The Trinity cross country teams competed Saturday at the University of the Incarnate Word Invitational at Live Oak City Park.


The Tiger men finished fourth in the non-Division I 8k race, beating out fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference members Southwestern (TX) University and Schreiner (TX) University. 

Trinity's women were also fourth in the non-DI scoring of the meet, competing in the first 6k of the season.

Joseph Campbell led the Tiger men, finishing 26th of 73 non-DI runners. Campbell crossed the finish line in 26:39, and was second among DIII competitors.

First-year Tiger Brianna Ratliff was the top Trinity women's runner, placing 13th of 52 participants. Ratliff clocked in at 24:23.4, and finished first among DIII runners.



The top eight runners for the Tigers did not compete, as they are preparing for a meet next week in Wisconsin.

Trinity's men placed eight runners in the top-50 of the non-DI field, while the Tiger women sported five runners among the top-25 competitors.

The race marked the first-ever 6k for Brianna Ratliff, while Michaela Lieb beat her personal 6k record by 1:30.

Daniel Henkes, Benjamin Creasy, and Ben Willey all finished among the top 40 runners in today's event.

First-year runners Megan Uren and Amanda Gerlach, as well as junior Michaela Lieb were all in the top 20, and all three finished under 26:00.



The Tigers head to Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to compete in the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational next Saturday.
