Three Trinity Volleyball Players Earn AVCA All- Region Honors

San Antonio - Trinity's Madeline McKay, Katrina Lieberman, and Jade Schoenberger have received American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III All-West Region accolades.

McKay made the All-Region rolls for the third consecutive year. The senior outside hitter was an Honorable Mention recipient for the past two seasons. Earlier this season, McKay was selected for the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference First Team for the third time in a row. McKay has chalked up 362 kills this year, and 1,231 in her career. She stands in 10th place in Trinity's career record books.

Lieberman, a junior setter, was previously tabbed for the All-SCAC First Team. She is ranked seventh in Division III total assists, with 1,217 to her credit. Lieberman also is ranked 10th nationally in assists per set with 10.77. In Trinity's record books, Lieberman is currently 12th in the total single-season assists mark.

Schoenberger made the AVCA All-West Region Honorable Mention Team. The senior right-side player is second on Trinity's team with 56 total blocks (.55 per set) and is third in total kills with 230 in her column. Schoenberger was tabbed for the All-SCAC Second Team last month.

Led by Head Coach Julie Jenkins, the 12th-ranked Tigers (25-6) open their 24th NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship Friday in Chicago, Illinois. Trinity meets Aurora (IL) University in the first round at 5:30 p.m. Central Time. The winner advances to Saturday's Semifinals at 5:00 p.m.. The Regional Championship is set for 1:00 p.m. Sunday. Tenth-ranked University of Chicago (IL) is hosting the eight-team Regional.
