Trinity has finished as NCAA runner-up, captured third place, advanced to the Elite Eight five times, and made it to the Sweet 16 on 12 occasions. Last season, the Tigers lost a hard-fought first-round battle with Pacific Lutheran (WA) University in Georgetown, Texas.
Trinity entered this year's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship as the second-seeded team with a 15-1 SCAC record. Southwestern (TX) University upset the Tigers in the Semifinals at the University of Dallas (TX) in Irving, Texas. But the fighting Tigers bounced back to defeat the host team 3-0 and returned home with third place.
