Trinity Volleyball Rises to Ninth in National Poll

San Antonio - The Trinity volleyball team rose one position to ninth in the weekly American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III Poll.

Led by head Coach Julie Jenkins, the Tigers have now received a top-10 ranking in six of the seven regular-season polls this year. Trinity has also been ranked in the top 15 in each of the eight polls, including the pre-season poll.

Trinity is on an eight-match win streak and stands at 18-4 overall. The Tigers are undefeated in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 10-0 record.

The Tigers are ranked ninth nationally in team hitting percentage at .253 and 10th in assists per set with a 12.7 average. Junior setter Katrina Lieberman is ranked #12 in assists per set (10.77) and 19th in total assists (851).

Senior defensive specialist Sarah Mullens has registered 333 digs this season for an average of 4.16 per set. Mullens has posted 1,847 career digs and is ranked second in Trinity's record books. Senior outside hitter Madeline McKay leads the team with 262 kills, averaging 3.36 per set.

This weekend, Trinity will host a two-day SCAC Divisional. Saturday's schedule has the Tigers taking on Johnson & Wales (CO) University at 11:00 a.m. followed by a showdown with fifth-ranked Colorado College at 3:00 p.m. On Sunday, Trinity meets the University of Dallas (TX) at 2:00 p.m. with the Tiger seniors to be honored prior to the match.
