The two Tigers sparked 10th-ranked Trinity to two SCAC road victories last week. The Tigers defeated Schreiner (TX) University and host Texas Lutheran University in a SCAC Divisional at Seguin, Texas.
McKay posted a hitting percentage of .343 against Texas Lutheran to go with her 15 kills. The outside hitter recorded a percentage of .533 in the opener with Schreiner, while firing in nine kill shots. All told, McKay chalked up 24 kills and hit .400 in the two matchups.
This season, McKay has produced 262 kills for an average of 3.36 per set and is hitting .308 in the campaign.
Mullens earned Player of the Week accolades for the second time this year. The defensive specialist posted a team season-high 32 digs against Texas Lutheran, which was also a career best for a three-set match. Her performance also is tied for fourth-best in conference history for a three-setter. Mullens had 12 digs against Schreiner and chalked up a total of 44 in the two matches, an average of 8.8 digs per set.
Mullens has registered 333 digs during the season for an average of 4.16 per set. Career wise, Mullens is in second place in Trinity's record books with 1,847 digs next to her name.
The Tigers have won eight consecutive matches and have an overall record of 18-4, along with an undefeated 10-0 SCAC mark. Trinity will host a SCAC Divisional Saturday and Sunday. A showdown with fifth-ranked Colorado College is slated for Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
