#7 Volleyball Sweeps Centenary to Open SCAC Weekend

Kerrville, Texas – Trinity's seventh-ranked volleyball team opened up a weekend of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action with a 3-0 win over Centenary (LA) College on Friday evening.



The Tigers won 25-16, 25-19, and 25-20 over the Ladies and 16 of Trinity's players saw action in the win.

The opening game began with Trinity sprinting to a 10-1 lead and Centenary never got closer than a five-point deficit the rest of the way.

After Centenary started the second set by taking a 6-3 lead, Trinity eased back in front with five straight points and never trailed again.

Trinity took a 7-2 lead to start the final set, but Centenary battled back to within one point (17-18) late in the contest. The Tigers scored six of the next seven points, though, and finished off the sweep.



Trinity improves to 8-2 overall this season and 2-0 in conference play. Tonight was the SCAC opener for Centenary, which falls to 4-7 on the year.

Katrina Lieberman finished with 26 assists and six kills to lead the Tigers in both categories. Lindsey Lubianski also had six kills in the match.

Sarah Mullens led the way with 15 digs, while Avery Tuggle was the only other Trinity player to reach double figures with 11 digs of her own.

Sarah Williammee and Maggi Linker finished with three blocks each to lead the Tigers.



The Tigers will face off against Southwestern (TX) University and Austin (TX) College tomorrow, at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., respectively.
