#19 Trinity Scores Shutout Win Over UW-Eau Claire

San Antonio - The 19th-ranked Trinity women's tennis team shut out the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire 9-0 Thursday in a home matchup.


The Tigers took all three doubles matches. Zoe Kaffen and Mary Kaffen won the first line, Caroline Kutach and Megan Flores took the second, and Paulina Garcia and Hanna Rafferty won the third.

The numbers two through six singles matches were won in straight sets. Ashley DeBauge, Zoe Kaffen, Andrea De Leon, Hailey Feuer, and Mary Kaffen were the respective winners.

Kutach won the first set of #1 singles 6-1, lost the second 5-7, and persevered to win the third 10-4 as the sweep was completed.



The Tigers now stand at 6-4 overall and are 6-1 against NCAA Division III opponents.

The Blugolds dropped to 10-3 after the loss.

Mary Kaffen is undefeated at 6-0 in singles.

Caroline Kutach won her seventh straight singles match and has chalked up a 7-2 record.

Hailey Feuer is 7-2 in singles, and Ashley DeBauge improved to 7-3.



Trinity will host #21 Southwestern (TX) University at 4:00 p.m. Friday.
