Claremont, California - The 18th-ranked Trinity women's tennis team served 27th-ranked Whitman (WA) College an 8-1 defeat.
The Tigers picked up the first two points of action in doubles and were able to gain a 2-1 lead heading into singles action.
Paulina Garcia and Ashley DeBauge swept their opponent 8-0 to get things started with their win at line three, and Caroline Kutach and Cheyenne Duncan earned the next point at line two with a solid 8-4 victory.
Trinity then picked up all six singles points to pick up the convincing team win.
Andrea De Leon got things started with a 6-0, 6-3 win at line at line three. Kutached followed shortly after with her line one 6-2, 6-1 win, and Duncan clinched the match at line six with a 6-4, 6-0 defeat.
DeBauge wrapped up her match next at line two, and Garcia and Francesca Canjar were the last two matches off the court, earning strong come from behind victories at line five and four, respectively.
Trinity will wrap up their spring break trip with a match tomorrow, March 16, against seventh-ranked Bowdoin (ME) College at 10:00 a.m. PDT.
