San Antonio - Trinity midfielders Camryn Beall and Jessica Young have been selected as the respective Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.
The two Tigers contributed to 19th-ranked Trinity's pair of home conference shutout victories last week. Trinity defeated the University of St. Thomas (TX) 3-0 and previously unbeaten Centenary (LA) College 4-0.
Beall scored the game-winning goal in each matchup. The Tiger sophomore scored in the third minute of action against St. Thomas and fired past the keeper in the seventh minute in the game with Centenary. Beall leads the Tigers with five goals in her column and is tied for the team lead with two game-winners.
Young, a first-year Tiger, sparked Trinity's taut defense to signature performances. The Tigers recorded their seventh and eighth shutouts of the season. St. Thomas and Centenary were each limited to just one shot on the mark over the weekend.
Trinity is on a four-game win streak and is sporting a 9-2 overall record. The Tigers are undefeated at 3-0 in conference action.
This weekend, the Tigers will play two SCAC road games, starting Friday at Southwestern (TX) University in Georgetown, Texas. Trinity then meets Texas Lutheran Sunday at Seguin, Texas.
