San Antonio – Trinity's 19th-ranked women's soccer team kicked off a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference weekend at home by defeating the University of St. Thomas (TX) 3-0 on Friday night.
The Tigers got on the board less than three minutes into the game, as Camryn Beall knocked in the eventual game-winner from the top of the 18-yard box.
The Tigers out-shot St. Thomas 26-1 in the game, which included 12 on-target shots among 19 total in the second half.
Trinity improves to 8-2-0 overall and 2-0-0 in SCAC play with the win, which was also the first meeting against St. Thomas. The Celts fall to 4-4-1 overall and 1-1-0 in conference with the loss.
Camryn Beall tied for the team lead with her fourth goal of the 2019 campaign, which was also her first game-winning goal of the season.
Nyah Shepherd picked up her sixth assists of the season, which makes her the Tiger leader in that category.
Alex Walsh notched her first assist of the season on Beall's game-winner early on in the game.
Goalkeeper Paige Wallace recorded her third shutout of the season in the win, recording a save on the only shot allowed by St. Thomas in the game.
The Tigers will host Centenary (LA) College on Sunday, October 13, at 12:00 p.m. to close out the SCAC weekend.
