San Antonio - Trinity senior defender Kristen Canepa has been selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Team captain Canepa and the Tigers defeated Southwestern (TX) University 6-0 in a non-conference home game last Sunday. The taut Tiger defense produced its fifth clean-sheet game of the campaign. The Pirates were limited to just four total shots and one on the mark.
This season, Trinity has permitted four goals over eight games. Opponents have totaled 52 shots (6.5/game) and 20 on-goal (2.5 game). Canepa has also contributed two goals - with one game-winner - to the offensive cause.
Trinity opens its SCAC schedule Friday by hosting Schreiner (TX) University at 6:00 p.m., during the University's Alumni Weekend.
