San Antonio - The Trinity women's soccer team climbed four positions and is now ranked 17th nationally by the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Poll.
Led by Head Coach Dylan Harrison, the Tigers moved up a notch to #2 in the West Region. Trinity has won 12 games in a row and stands at 13-1-1 overall with an undefeated 12-0-0 mark in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
As a team, the Tigers are ranked fourth in scoring offense (4.27 goals per game) and total goals (64). Trinity is ranked second in both goals-against average (.194) and shutout percentage (.867). The Tigers have produced 13 clean-sheet games this season.
Chelsea Cole has scored 19 goals during the campaign and is ranked 11th in the total goals category. Cole is also ranked eighth in points per game (3.07) and 13th in goals per game (1.27).
Last week, Cole was selected as the SCAC Offensive Player of the Week for the fifth time this season. In Trinity's 7-0 home SCAC shutout of Schreiner (TX) University last week, Cole rapid fired three goals within a 91-second time period. Her feat marked the fifth-fastest hat trick in Division III history, and the second quickest in the SCAC. The time between the first and second goal was only 22 seconds, tied for 14th in DIII as the fastest consecutive scores by the same player.
Cole has scored 50 goals in her career and stands in seventh place in Trinity's record books.
Trinity was scheduled to host Southwestern (TX) University in an SCAC matchup tonight (Tuesday), but the game was canceled due to wet field conditions. The Tigers conclude their regular-season schedule Sunday with an SCAC game at Johnson & Wales (CO) University in Denver, Colorado.
