#15 Trinity Finishes SCAC Weekend With Shutout Win Over Dallas

San Antonio - The 15th-ranked Trinity women's soccer team recorded its 11th consecutive victory with a 7-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference shutout of the University of Dallas (TX) Sunday afternoon.

GAME SUMMARY

After Trinity took three on-target shots early in the game, Katie Peth was able to break through with the first of two goals in the matchup in the 11th minute. The eventual game-winner came on an assist from Kelsey Kohler.

Halleanne Dure scored a solo shot in the 26th minute of play to make it a 2-0 Tiger lead, which lasted just over five minutes.

Alex Walsh added another goal to the Tiger scoreboard on Camryn Beall's assist in the 31st minute.

Chelsea Cole added the first of her two goals in the game in the 35th minute, converting a pass from Kaity Ward. Just over a minute later, Madison Horner ripped her shot into the back of the net for a 5-0 Tiger lead.

Trinity out-shot Dallas 24-2 in the opening period, taking the 5-0 advantage into the break.

Peth had her second of the day less than five minutes into the second half, as Lindsey Peng supplied the assist.

Peng picked up her second assist in the 64th minute, helping Cole to her second score of the day and a 7-0 Tiger lead.

The Tigers dominated the Crusaders 38-4 in total shots, and 17-1 in shots on the mark.

 

NOTABLES

Trinity posted its 12th clean-sheet game of the season and improved to a 12-1-1 overall record, including an undefeated 11-0-0 mark in the SCAC.

Dallas dropped to 3-7-2 and 2-5-1 in conference play. The Tigers beat the Crusaders 3-0 on September 30, in Irving, Texas.

Katie Peth registered her second multi-goal game of the season and now has five goals and two game-winners to her credit.

Chelsea Cole now has three multi-goal games this year, and leads the team with 16 goals. Cole has scored 47 goals in her career and moved into a tie for seventh place in Trinity's record books with Lindsay Rowland (2001-2003).

Halleanne Dure is second on the squad with 12 goals and has 35 in the career column.

Kaity Ward and Lindsey Peng are tied for the team lead with eight assists each this season.
