#15 Women's Soccer Earns Shutout Win Over Texas Lutheran

San Antonio - The 15th-ranked Trinity women's soccer team posted its 10th straight win with a 4-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over Texas Lutheran University Friday night.

Trinity posted 36 total shots in the game, connecting for 14 shots on goal, and the defense was equally as good as the Tigers didn't allow a shot over 90 minutes.

Chelsea Cole netted the eventual game-winner in the 13th minute of action, scoring from about 18 yards out after the defense failed to clear the ball from the box.

That proved to be the only goal of the first half, though, as the Tigers led just 1-0 at the break despite firing up 18 shots.

Less than 10 minutes into the second half, Lindsey Peng sailed a long-distance shot over the goalkeeper's arms to give Trinity a 2-0 lead.

The Tigers had a pair of goals in the 80th minute, beginning with Tori Schott's close-range shot on a nice through ball from Lilah Bevins. Just 24 seconds later, Camry Beall converted another Trinity goal on an assist from Schott to finish off the scoring in the game.

The Tigers improved to 11-1-1 overall with the team's 11th shutout of the year, and Trinity is undefeated in the SCAC with a 10-0-0 mark.

The Bulldogs dropped to 5-5-1 and 4-4-0 SCAC, which includes a 6-0 loss to the Tigers last month in Seguin, Texas.

Chelsea Cole scored her team-best 14th goal of the season, and now leads the squad with four game-winners. Cole has 45 career goals in her column and is in eighth place on Trinity's all-time scoring list.

Tori Schott scored her fourth goal of the campaign along with picking up a second assist.

Lindsey Peng now has two goals this season, while newcomer Camryn Beall scored the first goal of her early collegiate career.

Lilah Bevins has chalked up two assists for the season.

Trinity will host the University of Dallas (TX) in an SCAC matchup at 2:00 p.m. Sunday. The six Trinity women's soccer seniors will be honored prior to the game.
