San Antonio - Trinity senior Chelsea Cole has been selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the third occasion this season.
The talented forward sparked the 17th-ranked Tigers to two SCAC road victories last week. Trinity shut out Southwestern (TX) University 3-0 and then won its ninth straight game with a 3-1 decision over Centenary (LA) College.
Cole scored a goal in each of the matchups, including the game-winner against Southwestern. She also contributed two assists in the pairing with the Pirates. Cole tied the game with a goal in the weekend finale against Centenary.
This season, Cole has scored a team-leading 13 goals and is tied for the lead with three game-winners. She also has posted five assists during the campaign. Cole has 44 career goals to her credit and stands in eighth place in Trinity's record books.
Trinity has amassed an overall record of 10-1-1 and is undefeated in the SCAC with a 9-0-0 mark. The Tigers take on Texas Lutheran University in a conference home game at 6:00 p.m. Friday.
