Kerrville, Texas - The 21st-ranked Trinity women's soccer team posted a 3-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference shutout of Schreiner (TX) University on Tuesday.
For the next 25 minutes all of Trinity's shots were either blocked, went wide, or were saved by the Schreiner goalkeeper.
Goalkeeper Paige Wallace prevented a tie game with a key save in the 43rd minute.
Then, in the 44th minute Dure scored her second goal of the day on an assist from Alex Walsh.
Four minutes into the second half, Chelsea Cole scored as Ward picked up her second assist of the game.
Trinity had five chances more chances to score in the remaining minutes of the matchup, but the shots were saved by the Mountaineers' goalkeeper.
The Tigers won their fifth straight game and improved to a 6-1-1 overall record, and a 5-0-0 mark in the SCAC. Trinity also racked up its fifth straight clean-sheet game. Schreiner dropped to 2-5-1 and 1-4-0 SCAC.
Trinity recorded 20 shots and allowed Schreiner only four. The Mountaineers had only one shot on the mark, while the Tigers took 10 shots on goal.
Halleanne Dure recorded her third multi-goal game of the season, as well as scoring her eighth goal. Dure has now chalked up 31 career goals.
Chelsea Cole has scored at least one goal in the last four games. Cole leads the team with 10 goals in her column and has produced 41 during her career.
Kaity Ward leads the team with six assists this season.
Two weekend SCAC road games are in store for the Tigers, beginning Friday night with Austin (TX) College in Sherman, Texas. Trinity meets the University of Dallas (TX) Sunday afternoon in Irving, Texas.
