San Antonio - Trinity first-year defender Lilah Bevins has been tabbed as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
The 12th-ranked Tigers posted two shutout SCAC victories at home last weekend, defeating Texas Lutheran University and Southwestern (TX) University. Bevins and the Trinity defense allowed the opposition only three total shots in the two games. The win over Southwestern marked Trinity's 11th clean-sheet game of the season.
Bevins also picked up the third assist of her early collegiate career in Friday's win over Texas Lutheran, helping put Trinity ahead 3-0 early in the second half of play.
Trinity has won 13 consecutive games to post a 13-1-0 overall record, and a 9-0-0 mark in the SCAC. The Tigers close out their regular-season home schedule next weekend with two conference games against Centenary (LA) Colelge and Austin (TX) College.
