#2 Tigers Clinch Top Seed in SCAC Tournament With Win Over Austin

San Antonio - All-Americans Kelsey Falcone and Emily Jorgens combined for five goals as the second-ranked Trinity Tigers women's soccer team shut out the Austin College Kangaroos 9-0 Friday night in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup.

Trinity (16-0-1, 10-0-0 SCAC) won its 15th straight game, and also secured the top-seeded position in the SCAC Championship to be held on campus November 7-9. Austin College dropped to 9-7-0 and 5-5-0 SCAC. The Tigers beat the Kangaroos 2-0 on September 19, at Sherman, Texas.

Falcone scored the first of three goals just 1:49 into the game, with Jorgens supplying the assist. Jorgens then scored just a minute later, with Maggie Olvera dishing out her first of three assists in the game.

Olvera, Falcone and Jorgens then scored (the first of two goals) to give Trinity a  5-0 lead going into halftime. Jordan Leeper, Falcone, Hannah Booher, and Abby Tisdale were the second-half scorers.

Falcone's hat trick gave her 14 goals this season, along with three-game-winners. She also has chalked up 12 assists. Jorgens two goals brings her total to a team-leading 15, along with 20 assists. She now has 55 goals and 81 career assists to her credit.

Also picking up assists were Leeper, Kirby Peddicord, and Hannah Kuhl.

Devan Osegueda was the first-half keeper, with Lauren Goldberg and Kalli Douma taking over the second stanza. Trinity's taut defense did not allow an Austin College shot in the game.

Trinity finishes off the weekend with a conference tilt against the University of Dallas at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday night.
