San Antonio - The Tiger women's golf team placed third Tuesday at the rain-shortened Trinity-hosted Alamo City Classic at The Quarry Golf Club.
The six-team tournament was scheduled to begin Monday, but was limited to one round Tuesday because of heavy rain.
Trinity shot a 346 at the par-71 Quarry course, 10 strokes behind first-place Concordia (TX) University and five behind runner-up Hardin-Simmons (TX) University. The Tigers placed ahead of the University of Houston-Victoria (TX), Schreiner (TX) University, and Texas Lutheran University.
Emilee Strausburg finished second in the individual competition at 10-over-par 81, just one stroke behind the winner from Concordia. Strausburg tied for the lead in tournament pars, with 10 in her column.
Raquel Hill shot an 85 and completed the event in a tie for seventh. One stroke back, in ninth place was Elizabeth McGillivray. Elizabeth McGillivray was one stroke back in ninth place, while Delaney Kelley tied for the #17 slot. Jordyn Jasperson finished 27th, and individual player Sarah Buss finished in 28th place.
Trinity wrapped up its fall season and will compete March 11-12 at the Schreiner Spring Shootout in Kerrville, Texas.
