Seguin, Texas - The Trinity women's golf team sits atop Monday's first-round leaderboard of the Lady Bulldog Fall Classic at Starcke Park Municipal Course.
Competing in their first event of the fall season, the Tigers scored 319 on the opening day of the Texas Lutheran University seven-team tournament. Trinity leads second-place University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (TX) University by four strokes, and third-place Concordia (TX) University by 11.
Three Tiger golfers are tied for third place after shooting 7-over-par 79s: Emilee Strausburg, Elizabeth McGillivray, and Raquel Hill. The Trinity trio stands just two strokes behind the leaders from Mary Hardin-Baylor and McMurry (TX) University.
Delaney Kelley is tied for ninth place and Jordyn Jasperson is in a tie for 24th. Playing as an individual, Sarah Buss stands in 32nd place.
Strausburg and Hill are also in a six-way tie for the par-scoring lead, with 11 pars on their cards. Hill is the leader in par-4 scoring with an average of 4.20.
The final round will be played Tuesday.
