Trinity Women's Golf Team Wins First Place at Schreiner Invitational

Kerrville, Texas - The Tiger women's golf team finished off its first event of the spring season with a team victory at the Schreiner Invitational at Comanche Trace.



The Tigers finished up the second day with a combined team score of 318 to finish with a 637 two-day total. Trinity finished seven strokes ahead of second place Southwestern (TX) University. The Tigers have now won two consecutive team titles after finishing the fall season by winning their Alamo City Classic in October.

Emilee Strausburg finished first in the women's field with a combined score of 153 over the two day event. Strausburg carded a 79 after Tuesday's round after having shot a 74 the first day. The individual win is the first in the career for Strausburg, who has finished in the top 10 in all four of the events this season.

Taylor Moser and Elizabeth McGillivray tied for eighth place with a two-day total of 162. Moser finished the day with a score of 78, while McGillivray came in with 82.

Delaney Kelley was part of a three-way tie for 12th place with a two-day score of 165 after shooting a 79 in the second round. 

Shelby DeVore rounded out the list of Tigers in the top 20 with her 19th-place finish, producing a combined score of 168 and a second-day score of 87. 



Trinity will wrap up the month at the George Fox Westbrook Invitational held at Westbrook Country Club on March 17 and 18.
