San Antonio - The Trinity women's golf team won its Alamo City Classic for the second straight year, and Taylor Moser won individual honors as well at the Quarry Golf Club on Tuesday.
The Tigers shot a final-round 321 and finished with a 635 total at the par-71 course. Trinity outdistanced second-place Southwestern (TX) University by 19 strokes in the seven-team event that was held over the past two days.
Senior Taylor Moser won her first collegiate title, shooting a 5-over-par 76, for a 155 total. Moser led the field with five birdies in the tournament, and rose from fourth place after a first-round score of 79 on Monday.
Shelby DeVore shot an 84 and placed in a tie for fifth place with a total score of 161. DeVore paced the tournament with 21 pars on her card. Emilee Strausburg and Elizabeth McGillivray tied for ninth to round out four Trinity golfers in the top 10.
Delaney Kelley climbed six positions and finished tied for 12th place, improving her score by 10 strokes from Monday's round. Individual golfer Georgina Hawley bettered her opening-round score by eight strokes, and stood alone in 17th place.
The Tigers have completed their fall schedule, and will next compete March 5-6, 2018, at the Schreiner Invitational in Kerrville, Texas.
