Killeen, Texas – The Trinity women's golf team returned to action this week, finishing third at the 2017 Crusader Collegiate Invitational.
Trinity shot a two-round score of 647 at the event, which was hosted by the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, at the Stonetree Golf Club
Three Tiger players wrapped up the tournament in a tie for sixth place in the event, while two others earned top-25 finishes.
Emilee Strausburg was consistent with her scores of 80 on both days, and finished the tournament tied for second in Par 3 scoring with an even-par total.
Taylor Moser also shot a 160 (79-81), and led the Tigers with four birdies in the tournament. Moser also tied for third in the tournament in Par 4 scoring over the two-day event.
Shelby DeVore shot a team-best 78 on day two, improving her first-round score by four strokes to tie her Trinity teammates for sixth place.
DeVore and Strausburg finished the tournament with 21 pars each, which marked the second-highest total in the tournament.
Delaney Kelley shot a two-round 167 (86-81) to finish in a tie for 17th place, while Elizabeth McGillivray was tied for 29th. McGillivray improved her first-round score by eight strokes by shooting 83 on Tuesday.
Brighton Chen played the tournament as an individual and finished in a tie for 25th place with her score of 172 (86-86). She tied for third in the tournament with an even-par total score on Par 5 holes.
The Tigers will defend their title at the Trinity-hosted Alamo City Classic on October 16-17 at the Quarry Golf Club.
