Abby Holland Earns All-Region Honors

San Antonio - Trinity women's basketball player Abby Holland has been selected for the All-South Region Second Team.

The Tiger forward earlier was elected to the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) First Team for the second year in a row. Holland was an All-SCAC Third Team honoree during the 2016-17 season.

Holland became Trinity's all-time single-game leading scorer as she pumped in 43 points in a home SCAC game with Schreiner (TX) University. She scored 493 points during the season and reached 1,000 career-points.

Trinity won the SCAC regular-season title and was the top seed in the conference tournament at Seguin, Texas. In the Tournament Semifinals win against Colorado College, Holland poured in a new conference tourney record of 38 points. Host Texas Lutheran University beat Trinity in the conference Finals, where Holland contributed 19 points and tied her career-high of 12 rebounds. Holland's performances earned her All-Tournament recognition.

Holland led the Tigers with 18.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, and was tops with 75 steals in her column. The sharp-shooting Holland also connected on 50.6% of her shots from the field.

Seventh-year Head Coach Cameron Hill guided the Tigers to a 22-5 season record.  Coach Hill's teams have won at least 20 games in each of his years at the helm.
