San Antonio - Trinity senior guard Micah Weaver has been selected for the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for her performance in the team's two home wins last weekend.
Yesterday, Weaver earned the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week award.
The accolades were bestowed on the talented guard because of her stellar performance last weekend in the Tigers' SCAC home victory over Austin (TX) College. Weaver fired in 42 points in the game, tying a Trinity record. She shot 15-20 from the field, 3-3 beyond the arc, and sank 9-12 free throws. Weaver also posted her third double-double of the campaign by pulling in 10 rebounds, along with shelling out six assists to her teammates.
Her 42 points are tied for the fourth-most in conference history. Weaver became just the seventh player in the SCAC to score 40 or more points in a game. The points total is tied for third in the NCAA Division III this season.
In the opening game of the SCAC weekend against Centenary (LA) College, Weaver scored 14 points, and made five steals, four rebounds, and four assists. Weaver leads the Tigers in scoring, with 18.9 points per game. She is also #1 in field goal percentage (.524), assists (54), and steals (45).
Under the leadership of sixth-year Head Coach Cameron Hill, the 16th-ranked Tigers have won eight games in a row. Trinity is sporting a 13-2 overall record, and leads the SCAC with a flawless 6-0 mark.
The Tigers will take on Centenary and Austin College in respective road games Friday and Sunday.
