San Antonio – Tiger women's basketball senior Micah Weaver has been selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Weaver led nationally-ranked Trinity to a road weekend sweep in SCAC play, defeating both Texas Lutheran University and Southwestern (TX) University to remain unbeaten in conference play and extend the team's winning streak to six games.
The weekend started with Weaver's best game, which led the Tigers to a 71-61 victory over Texas Lutheran. She finished with a stellar all-around performance that featured 27 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and six steals. Weaver knocked down 12 of her 18 shots on her way to tying her season-best mark of 27 points, which is also the second-highest scoring output of her career.
Weaver finished the weekend with 14 points in just 24 minutes of action against Southwestern, marking the seventh time in 13 games that she has led the Tigers in scoring.
The 15th-ranked Tigers return home for more SCAC action this weekend, hosting Centenary (LA) College on Friday night, followed by a Saturday evening showdown with Austin (TX) College – a matchup between the last two unbeaten teams in SCAC play.
