Coach Hill and Seven Tiger Players Earn All-SCAC Honors

San Antonio - Head Coach Cameron Hill, along with seven Trinity women's basketball players, earned All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference recognition for the 2016-17 season.

Coach Hill was elected as the SCAC Coach of the Year for the second time in his five seasons with the Tiger team, guiding the team to a program-best 24-1 overall record during the regular season. He has led the team to five consecutive 20-win seasons, which is also a program record, and the team's 24 victories are the most in one year during his tenure.

Monica Holguin was chosen the SCAC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season, while Micah Weaver was tabbed as the SCAC Newcomer of the Year. Both players were voted to the All-SCAC First Team.

A three-time All-SCAC honoree, Holguin was second in the league in scoring this season, as well as ranking in the top 10 in steals/game, assists/game, and field goal percentage.

Weaver leads all SCAC players in field goal percentage, and ranks in the top 10 in free throw percentage, steals/game, and in scoring.

First-year Abby Holland was chosen for the All-SCAC Third Team, while Elizabeth Balido, Grace Horn, Mollie Hughes, and Allison Staley were all recognized on the All-SCAC Honorable Mention Team.
