Naperville, Illinois - Trinity's men's 4x400-meter relay team broke a 19-year-old school record at the Gregory Invitational hosted by North Central (IL) College on Wednesday.
In a final qualifying meet prior to the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships, the men's 4x400-meter relay quartet of Seve Rodriguez, Sean Majors, Raphael Martin, and Blair Walker ran the race in 3:15.70 for a fourth-place finish.
The previous mark of 3:16.01 was set in 2000 by Jerheme Urban, Ian Haag, Jordan Kindiger, and Terris Tiller.
Mia Loseff placed fifth in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.68 meters. Loseff's vault was .05 meters from her school record and season-best.
Androniki Defteraiou completed four of seven events in the women's heptathlon and stands in seventh place with 2,519 points.
Defteraiou registered a personal-best mark of 8.33 meters in the shot put. She placed fourth in the 200 meters, clocking in at 26.41 seconds, just .22 seconds off a team season-best.
Defteraiou missed tying her personal-best performance by .28 seconds with her fifth-place finisher in the 100-meter hurdles at 15.47 seconds. She registered a mark of 1.44 meters in the high jump, which is only .08 meters from her personal record.
Defteraiou will complete the heptathlon Thursday with the long jump, javelin throw, and 800 meters.
The meet concludes Thursday. In addition to the heptathlon, the Tigers will compete in five individual events and one relay race.
