Abilene, Texas - Trinity's men's and women's track & field teams took on NCAA Division I and other scholarship athletes Sunday in the Abilene Christian (TX) University Last Chance Meet.
Peyton Tuggle won his section of the men's 100 meters, clocking in at 10.90 seconds, just 0.22 seconds from his school record.
Tuggle finished third in his section of the 200 meters at 21.64 seconds, only 0.02 seconds from the school-record time.
Sean Majors registered a mark of 6.98 meters in the long jump, a mere 0.01 meters from a personal and season-best.
Stella Affognon posted a team season-leading mark of 11.64 meters in the women's shot put. Affognon's mark was 0.15 meters from equaling her personal-best. She also threw the discus 38.74 meters.
Andy Garza placed second in the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.44 meters, a mere 0.29 meters shy of tying her personal-best performance. Garza was ranked 18th in the NCAA Division III prior to the meet.
Mia Loseff registered 3.46 meters in the women's pole vault, 0.27 meters from tying a season-high.
A number of team members will compete Wednesday and Thursday at the North Central (IL) College Gregory Invitational at Naperville, Illinois.
