San Antonio - Two Trinity student-athletes have been elected to the respective Google Cloud NCAA Division III Academic All-District 8 Men's and Women's Track/Cross Country Teams.
Selected by members of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), student-athletes are honored for their combined performances in athletics and in the classroom. The national Academic All-America Teams will be announced June 19.
Matt Love recently earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity in business administration and communication. Last week, Love earned All-America honors with an eighth-place finish in the discus throw at the NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. He also qualified for the USTFCCCA All-South/Southeast Region Team in the discus and won his signature event at the SCAC Championships for the third time in his career.

Trinity's cross country teams are led by Emily Daum, who has completed four years at the helm of the Tigers squads. Coach Daum guided Trinity's women to a 16th-place finish at nationals and to the South/Southeast Region Championship. She was elected the USTFCCCA Women's Cross Country South/Southeast Region Coach of the Year. She also led the men's and women's teams to SCAC Championships and was voted the conference Coach of the Year in both categories.
The track & field teams are led by sixth-year Head Coach Marcus Whitehead, who took a school-record nine student-athletes to the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships. Three of those competitors earned All-America honors and 15 of his charges picked up All-South/Southeast Region awards. Trinity's women won their fourth straight SCAC Championship, while the Tiger men placed second.
