Five Individuals and Women's Track & Field Team Earn Academic Honors

San Antonio - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) honored five individuals and the Tiger women's team with All-Academic status for the 2017 season.

In order to be selected as an All-Academic Team, a squad must maintain at least a 3.0 grade-point average. Additionally, individuals are required to hold a GPA of 3.25 or higher for selection, as well as compete at the NCAA Championships, or achieve a high national or regional ranking.

Juniors Cody Hall and Matt Love represented Trinity's men's team, while junior Britney Sullivan was joined by sophomores Molly McCullough and Abigail Schneebeck for placement on the All-Academic squad. 

McCullough was previeously elected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Division III Academic All-District 8 Women's Track & Field and Cross Country Team. McCullough competed in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and finished 15th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Sullivan placed 12th in the NCAA Outdoor Women's triple jump, and was 14th at the Indoor Championships. Schneebeck received All-Region honors in the 4x400-meter relay, and the 100 and 400-meter hurdles.  

Hall and Love were also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 Men's Team. Hall became an All-American twice during the season, starting with his runner-up finish in the 60-meter hurdles at the NCAA Indoor Championships. He placed fourth in the NCAA Men's Outdoor 110-meter hurdles. Love was an 11th-place finisher in the NCAA Outdoor discus event.

Trinity hosted and won the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship, as the Tiger women captured their third straight team title. The Tiger men were conference runners-up.

Hall won SCAC Male Athlete of the Meet honors for the second straight time. Love was elected as the SCAC Men's Field Athlete of the Year, during postseason voting.

Head Coach Marcus Whitehead and his assistants were elected by their peers as the SCAC Women's Track & Field Staff of the Year. Coach Whitehead completed his fifth season at the Tigers' helm.
