Kimberly Jones is in her fourth season as an assistant coach of Trinity men’s and women’s swim teams.
Since joining the staff in the fall of 2016, Coach Jones has contributed to the success of the Tiger swim teams. Six swimmers have earned All-America and Honorable Mention All-America honors. Trinity’s women captured three Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships in the time period, and the men won two. Four Tigers have been named SCAC Swimmer of the Year, and Coach Jones has been part of the SCAC Staff of the Year kudos.
Coach Jones brought 10-plus years of coaching and swim lessons to Trinity’s program. She served as an age group and Masters swim coach at Crawfish Aquatics in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was head swim coach at Sela Aquatics in Baton Rouge and at Lifetime Fitness in San Antonio.
Jones graduated with honors from Texas Christian University in 2011, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in studio art. She competed on TCU’s NCAA Division I women’s swim team and was designated as a Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete. An exemplary student, Coach Jones was the recipient of the Nordan Art Scholarship and was a member of the TCU Honor Society Artists and Designers.
She earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in photography from Louisiana State University in 2015, graduating summa cum laude (with highest honors). Jones has also been a photography and art instructor.
Coach Jones began her swimming career at the age of 9 at Alamo Area Aquatics Association in San Antonio. She swam for San Antonio’s Douglas MacArthur High School and was a two-time All-American in 2004 and 2006. Coach Jones also earned all-state accolades in 2005 and 2007. Additionally, Coach Jones trained with the Rice Masters Aquatics Team in Houston, Texas.
The versatile Coach Jones is also an aerial silk performer with Aqua Acro Entertainment. The San Antonio-based company employs talented gymnasts, aerialists, and synchronized swimmers for a variety of settings and venues.
