San Antonio - The Trinity men's and women's swimming & diving teams have received academic honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
Both squads have been tabbed as Division III Scholar All-America Teams for the spring 2018 semester. To qualify, teams must have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Trinity's women's team posted a 3.41 GPA, while the men chalked up a 3.09 mark. The CSCAA will announce the individual Scholar All-Americans next week.
Seven Trinity student-athletes competed at the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships. Four Tiger women earned All-America and Honorable Mention All-America accolades, while a men's diver garnered Honorable Mention All-America distinction.
The Tigers swept the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships. Trinity's women brought home their 15th consecutive championship trophy, while the men secured their seventh in a row. The SCAC Male and Female Swimmers and Divers of the Year awards were also won by the Tigers.
Trinity's coaches were selected as conference Staff of the Year for both the men's and women's competitions. Scott Trompeter is the head swimming coach, while Stan Randall heads the diving program.
