Valmassei Earns Honorable Mention All-America at NCAA Championships

Indianapolis, Indiana - Trinity first-year diver Daniel Valmassei earned Honorable Mention All-America honors to highlight the third day of the NCAA Championships.



Trinity's two male divers wrapped up their portion of competition today on the low board. In prelims, Daniel Valmassei finished in eleventh place with a score of 431.95 to qualify for the finals and secure Honorable Mention All-America honors. Anthony Liva scored a 413.55 and barely missed the finals with an 18th-place finish. 

Valmassei was able to improve on his score later in the finals to move up to tenth place with his score of 476.45.

Lindsay Hagmann, Abbie Jones, Lauren Cuda and Star Rosales represented Trinity in the 800 yard freestyle relay during the morning session and picked up a 24th-place finish. 

After three days of action, Trinity women's team has earned 22 points and sits in 20th place heading into the final day of competition. 



Trinity's relay team will return to the pool Saturday to compete in the 400 yard freestyle relay.

Hagmann is also scheduled to compete as an individual in the 100 yard freestyle event, while senior diver Christine Peterson will take on the women's 3-meter competition.
