Two Trinity Men’s Tennis Doubles Teams Advance at ITA Regional

Georgetown, Texas - Two Trinity men’s doubles teams advanced in “A” Doubles at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southwest Region Championships on Thursday.

 

HIGHLIGHTS

Top seeds Jordan Pitts and Cameron Krimbill defeated Nathan Schmidt and Rodrigo Vazquez-Chairez of LeTourneau (TX) University 8-1 in the opening round of doubles. The Tiger tandem faces Siddarth Kortikere and PJ Cabato of Austin (TX) College in the round of 16.

Pitts won the Regional title last year with former Tiger Wilson Lambeth.

The second-seeded team of Wilson Hamilton and Artur Zigman beat Cole Weiss and Rafael Omana of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (TX) 8-2. Hamilton and Zigman will next play Adrian Mungia and Esteban Arredondo of Concordia (TX) University.

Fifth seeds Hao Nguyen and Christian Settles and the unseeded Trinity duo of Brett Finan and Cal Hunter both lost 4-8 against teams from Southwestern (TX) University and the University of Texas-Dallas.

The “A” Singles and Doubles champions, to be determined Sunday, advance to the ITA Cup October 17-20 at Rome, Georgia.
