San Antonio - Three members of the Trinity men's tennis team have been designated as Scholar-Athletes by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
Sophomores Cameron Krimbill and Lars Wiik, and first-year Artur Zigman were named ITA Scholar-Athletes for the 2018-19 campaign. Players who maintain a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher are eligible to become Scholar-Athletes.
Krimbill earned All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) recognition and completed the season with a 15-10 singles dual-match record, along with a #17 ranking in the ITA West Region. As a doubles team, Krimbill and Zigman posted an 11-6 record and were ranked 15th in the region. Wiik became a Scholar-Athlete for the second year in a row.
Led by 10th-year Head Coach Russell McMindes, the Tigers won the SCAC Championship for the 10th consecutive occasion and the 24th overall. Trinity qualified for its 10th straight NCAA Division III Tournament and advanced to the third round.
The Tigers completed the season with a 17-10 record and received a #13 national ranking from the ITA and a #2 ranking in the West Region.
