San Antonio - The Trinity men's tennis team was ranked 13th for the second time in a row by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division III Poll.
Led by 10th-year Head Coach Russell McMindes, the Tigers posted a 4-0 record in the two-week ranking period. Included in the record was a 5-0 decision over Southwestern (TX) University as Trinity captured its 10th consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship.
The Tigers stand at 16-9 overall and are 15-3 against NCAA Division III opponents. Trinity remained ranked second in the ITA West Region.
Wilson Lambeth and Jordan Pitts are once again the top-ranked doubles team in the West Region. The Tiger duo has won eight matches in a row and is sporting a 17-3 mark on the top line of doubles. Cameron Krimbill and Artur Zigman are ranked 14th in doubles, with a 10-5 overall record and a 9-2 mark on the second line. Krimbill and Zigman have won four consecutive matches.
Lambeth has won 12 straight singles matches and is ranked sixth in the region. He is 15-6 overall, 6-0 on the top line, and 9-6 at #2 singles. Pitts hold a #8 ranking with a 6-8 record, and is 5-7 at #1 singles. Krimbill is ranked 19th and stands at 14-10 overall, with a 4-1 record on the second line, and a 6-6 mark on the fourth.
Trinity received an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament by winning the conference title. The NCAA will announce the official bid on May 6.
