Trinity Men’s Tennis Top Seeds at SCAC Tournament

San Antonio - The 13th-ranked Trinity men's tennis team will be the top-seeded squad at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament this Friday through Sunday hosted by Austin (TX) College in Sherman, Texas.

The Tigers stand at 14-9 this season and drew a first-round bye, which puts them straight to Saturday's semifinals at 2:00 p.m. CDT. Trinity's opponent will be the winner of Friday's matchup between fourth-seeded Schreiner (TX) University and fifth-seeded Colorado College. The championship match is slated for 9:00 a.m. Sunday.

Second-seeded Southwestern (TX) University meets seventh-seeded Centenary (LA) College, and third-seeded host Austin College plays #6 Texas Lutheran University in other first-round matches.

The SCAC champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Selections will be announced May 6.

Led by 10th-year Head Coach Russell McMindes, the Tigers have won nine consecutive SCAC Championships. Last year, Trinity blanked Southwestern 5-0 at Colorado Springs, Colorado, as the Tigers won their 23rd overall men's tennis title.
