San Antonio - Wilson Lambeth was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the third time this season, while Wilson Hamilton and Jace Akagi-Okuma were tabbed as the Doubles Team of the Week.
The Tiger standouts played major roles in 11th-ranked Trinity's two home 9-0 victories last week. Trinity first blanked the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and then shut out #29 Southwestern (TX) University.
Lambeth moved to the top singles position for the first time this season and won both of his matchups. This season, Lambeth is on a seven-match win streak and is sporting an overall 10-6 record.
Hamilton and Akagi-Okuma won both doubles matches on the third line. The Tiger tandem is 5-1 overall and is undefeated at 5-0 on the third line of doubles.
The Tiger team has won five matches in a row and stands at 11-8 on the season and 10-2 against NCAA Division III opponents.
Trinity travels to Claremont, California, for two matches this weekend. The Tigers will take on #20 Gustavus Adolphus (MN) College Friday and 13th-ranked Pomona-Pitzer (CA) Colleges Saturday.
