Pitts and Lambeth Fall to Top-Seeded Middlebury Team

Claremont, California - Jordan Pitts and Wilson Lambeth fell in straight sets to Lubomir Cuba and Kyle Schlanger from Middlebury (VT) College in the first round of the NCAA Doubles Championships.

The Tiger duo dropped the first set of their match on Thursday 6-2 and were unable to bounce back in the second, falling 6-4.

During the dual-match season, Lambeth and Pitts chalked up a 21-6 record at the #1 doubles position. The Trinity tandem had a 16-match win streak entering last week's team portion of the NCAA Championship, but came up short to the University of Texas-Tyler.

The 15th-ranked Tiger team went on to defeat #29 UT-Tyler 5-3 in the second round, but then lost 5-1 to host and fifth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CA) Colleges in the third. Lambeth and Pitts won Trinity's only point with the Stags.

Led by ninth-year Head Coach Russell McMindes, Trinity finished the dual-match season with a 16-12 record.
