San Antonio - The 15th-ranked Trinity men's tennis team swept Austin College (TX) in the first match of their home weekend.
The Tigers started off strong and took a 3-0 lead after doubles competititon.
Wilson Lambeth and Jordan Pitts were the first duo off the courts and defeated their opponent 8-4 at line one. Tilden Oliver and Lars Wiik finished next with another 8-4 win at line three, and Wilson Hamiliton and Jace Akagi-Okuma wrapped up doubles play with an 8-2 win at line two.
Wiik was the first player to claim a victory in singles with his 6-1, 6-3 win at line six, and Lambeth clinched the match at line three with his 6-4, 6-1.
Pitts was the next player to earn the win at line two, followed by Oliver, Hamilton, and Akagi-Okuma at lines five, one, and four respectively.
Trinity will return to action Saturday morning with two home matches, starting with Hardin-Simmons (TX) University at 9:00 a.m. The Tigers will then take on East Texas Baptist University at 2:00 p.m.
