#13 Trinity Men’s Tennis Swept by #14 Whitman College

Walla Walla, Washington - The thirteenth-ranked Trinity men's tennis team were defeated 9-0 by fourteenth-ranked Whitman College to wrap up their road weekend. 



After falling 3-0 in doubles play, the Tigers were unable to slow the Blues momentum in singles action. 

Trinity's closest match of the day came at line two doubles were Wilson Hamilton and Jace Akagi-Okuma fell 8-6 to their Whitman opponents. 

Whitman finished up the match by winning all six singles matches. Akagi-Okuma put up the strongest fight at line three, as he battled back after a 6-2 first set to lose narrowly 6-4 in the second. 

The last time the Tigers were swept 9-0 was in 2012 against then NAIA member Oklahoma Christian University, which went on to when the NAIA men's tennis national championship that year. 



Trinity will return home on Friday, February 16, to take on Division II's St. Edward's (TX) University at 4:00 p.m.
