#3 Men's Soccer Draws With Colorado College on Friday

Colorado Springs, Colorado - The third-ranked Tiger men's soccer team opened up a road weekend of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 1-1 tie against Colorado College on Friday night.

GAME SUMMARY

Colorado College fired off the first five shots of the game, including the go-ahead goal that came just 9:22 into the game to put the home team up 1-0.

It took just over 30 minutes for Trinity to get an on-target shot, but that resulted in a save for Colorado and the CC Tigers went to halftime with the slim lead.

The second half began similar to the first as Trinity was held without a shot for nearly 15 minutes. The TU Tigers finally had their chance in the 60th minute after being awarded a penalty kick, but Colorado recorded the save to keep Trinity off the board.

Vetle Masvaer Halle tied things up for Trinity just seconds after subbing into the game in the 72nd minute.

Trinity had the only shot on goal of regulation that came after the game was tied, but it was saved again by Colorado to send the game into overtime.

Each team had just one shot in the first extra period, then only three combined shots in the second overtime period that resulted in a draw.

NOTABLES

Trinity moves to 13-1-2 overall this season and 11-1-1 in SCAC play and the tie snaps a five-game win streak for the Tigers. Colorado is now 12-5-1 and 10-4-1 in conference play.

The draw snaps a streak of seven straight wins in this series, dating back to a 3-1 loss at Colorado College in 2015. It marks the third overtime game this season for Trinity.

Vetle Masvaer Halle scored just his second goal of the season to draw even with Colorado and keep Trinity from taking a loss for the first time this month.

The TU Tigers were limited to just 12 shots in the game, which is less than half of their per-game average this season. Trinity also held Colorado to just 14 total shots and both teams had four shots on goal.
