Shreveport, Louisiana - The 10th-ranked Trinity men's soccer team shut out Centenary (LA) College 4-0 Sunday afternoon in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup.
Three minutes later goalkeeper Blake Lieberman prevented a tie with a saved shot.
Trinity had five more good chances to score after the initial goal, but the Gents keeper posted a save each time. The Tigers led 11-3 in first-half total shots.
Six minutes into the second half Hallenberger picked up his second goal of the afternoon with an assist by Ryan Hunter.
Trinity led Centenary 25-3 in second-half total shots.
The Tigers won their second straight game and improved to 10-1-1 overall and 8-1-0 in SCAC competition. Trinity also posted its sixth clean-sheet game of the campaign.
Centenary dropped to 1-12-0 and 0-11-1 SCAC. The Tigers shut out the Gents 6-0 on September 16 in San Antonio.
Jacob Hallenberger recorded his first multi-goal game of the season and the second of his career. The Tiger sophomore now has four goals this season and one game-winner.
Blake Lieberman saved three shots in the shutout, bringing his season total to 28.
Trinity led Centenary 20-3 in shots on the mark.
The Tigers return home to take on Texas Lutheran University in an SCAC game at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday.
