Trinity Men’s Soccer Ranked Ninth in First Regular-Season Poll

San Antonio - The Trinity men's soccer team jumped eight positions and is now ranked ninth in the nation by the first regular-season United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Poll.

Led by 28th-year Head Coach Paul McGinlay, the Tigers held a #17 ranking in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll. Trinity stands at 2-0-1 this season and has victories over then 19th-ranked Rutgers University-Newark (NJ), and Hardin-Simmons (TX) University. The Tigers battled then-third-ranked University of Chicago (IL) to a 3-3 draw, coming back from a two-goals deficit.

Trinity begins its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) campaign tonight (Tuesday) in Seguin, Texas, against Texas Lutheran University. The Tigers will host two SCAC games this weekend, starting with Austin (TX) College on Friday and finishing with Centenary (LA) College Sunday. Last fall, Trinity won its sixth consecutive SCAC Championship and the 20th overall.
