Abilene, Texas - The 12th-ranked Trinity men's soccer team opened its two-day road trip with a 1-0 win over Hardin-Simmons (TX) University on Friday afternoon.
Trinity held a 20-10 edge in shots during the game, as well as a 12-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Goalkeeper Blake Lieberman posted both of his saves in the second half, preserving the team's second clean-sheet game of the campaign. Lieberman recorded saves in the 54th and 63rd minutes of play.
The Tigers remained undefeated at 3-0-0, while the Cowboys played their first game of the season.
Newcomer Wesley Mitchell scored his first goal as a Trinity Tiger.
The assist by Christian Sakshaug was his second of the season, and 20th of his career. He is now in a four-way tie for 20th place on Trinity's career assists column.
Blake Lieberman now has eight saves to his credit this season - his first as the starting goalkeeper for the Tigers.
The Tigers wrap up their trip by taking on the University of Texas-Dallas at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
