Germantown, Tennessee - The Trinity men's golf team stands in ninth place in the Rhodes Spring Collegiate Classic after Monday's opening two rounds at the Windyke Country Club course.
The Tigers shot a two-round total of 591 at the par-72 course and is just four strokes from moving up to eighth place.
DJ Springer is tied for 14th place after shooting an even-par 144 for the day, including 1-under second round of 71. He is tied for second place with his 27 pars shot during Monday's rounds.
Bryce Pidgeon opened the tournament with a 1-over 73 and is tied for 32nd place in the standings with a 4-over 148. He sank seven birdies in 36 holes to tie for fifth among all players, and he is just four strokes behind Springer for the team lead.
Peyton Bartee equaled Springer and Pidgeon with a first-round score of 73 and is tied for 38th overall. He is one stroke behind Pidgeon with his total score of 149, producing 26 pars in Monday's two rounds of action.
Dawson Dally and Tucker Norris are tied for 52nd place individually, after shooting combined scores of 153 on Monday. Norris shot a 2-over 74 in his opening round, while Dally finished with a 4-over 76 in round two.
The tournament concludes with 18 holes on Tuesday for the Tigers.
