San Antonio - The Trinity men's golf team placed fourth Tuesday at its rain-shortened Alamo City Classic at The Quarry Golf Club.
The tournament was limited to one round after Monday's heavy rains caused a first-round cancellation.
The Tigers shot a 311 on the par-71 Quarry course, one stroke behind the University of Dallas (TX), three in back of runner-up Concordia (TX) University, and five from first-place University of Houston-Victoria (TX). Trinity finished ahead of Texas Lutheran University, Schreiner (TX) University, LeTourneau (TX) University, and Hardin-Simmons (TX) University.
The Tigers led the event with 50 pars on their cards.
Dawson Dally and individual competitor Tucker Norris shot 4-over-par and were in a six-way tie for third place. The Tiger twosome was three strokes behind the winner from Hardin-Simmons and two in back of the second-place finisher from the University of Dallas. Dally was second in tournament pars with 14, while Norris tied for third with 13 to his credit.
Bryce Pidgeon tied for 10th place, Spencer Leader and individual golfer Jacob Hudson placed in a tie for 21st, and DJ Springer was part of a tie for 26th place. Peyton Bartee and individual player Emilio Ortiz tied for the #35 position.
The tournament wrapped up Trinity's fall campaign. The Tigers next hit the course March 11-12 for the Schreiner Spring Shootout in Kerrville, Texas.
